OUR BELIEFS
The Free Presbyterian Church bases their beliefs entirely on the Word of God. There is but one living and true God, and in the Godhead, there are three Persons, equal in power and glory, God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Ghost (Romans 1:20); that God has appointed besides the Word and Prayer the Sacraments of Baptism and the Lord’s Supper (Luke 22:19, Acts 2:38); and, that there will be a visible and personal return of our Lord Jesus Christ (Revelation 1:7), to name just a few. Rev. Paul Thompson is a graduate from the Whitefield College of the Bible. Rev. Thompson was brought up in the rural district of Kells, Ballymena, County Antrim, where his family attended the Ballymena Free Presbyterian Church.
During his early years as a teenager he was converted to Christ under the preaching of the gospel, and in his early twenties he then felt that God was calling him to the Christian ministry. After theological training the door of opportunity opened for ministry in Mount Merrion where he has pastored the Congregation from 2007 to 2015. Paul is now the minister of Antrim Free Presbyterian Church.
OUR PASTOR
Following various opportunities to share the gospel with the local community and further afield, men from and connected to AFPC started a podcast "Free P's in a Pod", conversing about current issues that believers are challenged with and how scripture always points us to Christ, as well as teaching those who do know know God as their Saviour, the hope, joy, peace and forgiveness that He alone brings.
